Crafted (and artfully distressed) by hand in the U.S.A., the Heritage Distressed Open-Road Felt Cowboy Hat combines the key features of the Royal Deluxe—the supple feel, flexible finish and snap brim—with unique style details. Like all Highways, the 1865 Distressed Royal Deluxe easily transitions from city to country, and looks equally sharp on a woman or a man.
Introduced in 1937, the Highway was originally sold with an open crown, which could then be creased to the customer’s liking. Since 1948, it has been finished with a traditional, hand-pressed cattleman crease, and has been worn by modern pioneers and trailblazers ever since, from artists and outlaws to Presidents (including, most notably, LBJ, who was rarely photographed on his Texas ranch without his Highway).
The Heritage Distressed Open-Road Felt Cowboy Hat features a genuine leather sweatband and a 4 ¼” crown outfitted with a grosgrain hat band, an eye-catching feather detail and a hat pin honors ’s Western heritage—and a nod to the pioneering spirit that lives on in every hat we sell.

Shipping is free on every U.S. order — no minimum purchase. Orders are delivered within 1–2 business days, with same-day dispatch before 2 PM CST. We currently ship to U.S. addresses only.

You have 30 days from delivery to return any unworn item with tags in its original packaging. Return postage is paid by the buyer, unless your item arrived damaged, wrong, or never arrived — in those cases we replace it or refund you in full and cover the postage.
