DOWFLAKE Xtra calcium chloride flakes are white, free-flowing flakes containing 83-87% calcium chloride. The product is used for ice melting, dust control, concrete acceleration, and other applications.
Its higher concentration provides a lower application rate than conventional calcium chloride flake. It releases heat for snow and ice melting and can be mixed with rock salt, sand, and gravel.
- Active ingredient: Minimum 83% calcium chloride
- Meets or exceeds ASTM D98 and AASHTO M144 purity requirements for Type S, Grade 3, Class B calcium chloride
- Helps reduce dust on unpaved surfaces by absorbing moisture and binding dust particles to gravel
- May reduce initial and final concrete set time and increase early strength
- Other listed applications include tire weighting, brine refrigeration, and pesticide formulations
